Well, I said I wouldn't make anohter MLB topic again, but in respect to Zero, a big yankees fan maybe this topic could attract a little response and make him feel happy. So two of the teams I hate the most right now are playing in the World Series. The 'better' New York team against the team that has gotten the better of the Mets over the past 2 seasons. We have a interesting matchup of the reigning World Champions (Phillies) vs The Champions (Yanks) of all time. I'm going to be very neutral on this one, I can't choose a or predict a winner! seriously, how biased can I get, my hatred for the Yankees, and my hatred for teams(other than my own) having the chance to win twice in a row. All I gotta say is the Phillies have an American League offense, in the National League! If anyone from the inferior league was to beat the best team in the world, it would be the Phillies. I have a feeling that Matsui, who has had a great season will give the Phillies a problem when they play at Yankee Stadium. Although the Phillies are going to have a great lineup when they play at the National League park. I know there are sports fanatics out there that say this is the typical story of "The AL team is functioned to have a DH year round which gives them such a greater advantage if they're @ home" Although Matsui has been that much of a great player this year to make the difference. |

Well I'm sure it'll be a great game. I've been following a bit through out this season and it looks like the East coast will be going crazy. I mean you've got the Phillies and Yankees goin' at it in the World series so all of New York and Philadelphia being cities that are right next to each other will be bustling. Not only that but next week you've got the Giants and Eagles another match up between New York and Philadelphia that will generate so much energy in the two states. Next week will be scary. Eagles fans are known to be the worst/best fans of football and the same goes for Yankees in New York. Either way it's going to be crazy in the east. |

All i got to say is Im so mad right now, the yankees played like crap in game one. No matter how much I love the yankees, they deserve to lose this game. I'm extremely dissapointed in their offense. Yes Lee was good I won't take it away from him but the offense could have done more. |

The Yankees played like crap.. at home, which is a very rare feat. I don't care how good Lee is, but when the best team in the world fails to get a single RBI all game, and waits until the 9th to get on the score board, they just stunk up the joint. What did I say though about the Phillies having a American League offense in the national league? They showed the fans at Yankee stadium something that is not expected about the National League, especially after it was ironiclly the Phillies DH; Raul Ibanez who batted the run that put the strangled hold on the Yankees late in the game. Game 2 will feature Martinez on the mound for the Phillies, so the Yankees will have to deal with another talented pitcher in the yard again. If I was a Yankee fan right now, I'd be *****ting in my pants. Edited by Mc Esse, Oct 29 2009, 04:10 PM.

Game 2: Phillies 1 @ Yankees 3 This game seemed like more of a real World Series game. The Phillies seemed to be the better team to start the game. Pedro allowing very little hits, and the Phillies scored early in the night. Although that turned around when the Yankees had their offense pull through for them thanks to big plays from Texeira and Matsui. |

I'm glad the yankees were able to win yesterday still a little dissapointed in the offense, they need to step up more Pedro wasn't doing as great a job as they were making it seem. The bats need to break out and come alive. I'm glad Burnett had the Nasty Curveball working for him yesterday. |

I think it's good that the Yankees won one before they went into Philly because that stadium will be pretty hard for them to do well in and it'd be a tough road had they lost 0-2. So good job getting a win. I'm not a fan of either team but unless Yankees do something to push themselves a bit more then I htink Philly might win this whole shabang. |

Re read what I said. The yankees offense made it look like he was pitching great. In reality he wasn't really pitching as great as it seemed like. Cliff Lee yeah he pitched a really good game. Martinez there were so many pitches where I thought that it should have been hit but weren't. So in reality he did not do as great as the Yankees offense made it seem like. At least with AJ he had a nasty curveball working for him in that game. |

Still better than game 1 where they were held to 0 RBIs and 1 homer. It's going to rain for today's game, I don't know if they will even play... |

As of right now, everything is leading that a game will be played. I hope it is too because I need something to watch while giving out the candy. yes the Yankees did better in game 2 than 1, but still not good enough in my opinion. Cano, A-Rod need to start hitting the ball more. And Swisher needs to start hitting too. |

A rod has done nothing this series so far, but they had their good players like Matsui, Burnett and Teixera show up for game two. Which is what matters. Having your good players playing like good players.

exactly and if Arod is supposed to be the best then he should be playing like the best in this series. By best I mean best on the team, and he is not doing it. But then again Howard isn't doing for the Phillies either so it ends up evening out but still, I still believe when the yankees are at 100 percent their offense is still better than the Phillies ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So the yankees take game three, the offense was good, I liked it today. Damon got a big hit, Swisher got two big hits. Matsui had the pinch hit hr, Arod broke out of his Slump in a way. Even Pettite got a big hit. I hope the momentum can get carried into game 4 Edited by -Zero-, Nov 1 2009, 06:51 AM.

I'm surprised they Swisher. Think A-Rods girlfriend is a lucky charm or bad luck for 'rm in the owrld series? I mena they did win even though it wasn't that impressive on offense |
